We are using NWDS 7.3.

Recently i am facing a strange issue.

Though I can deploy changes to custom DCs from nwds with ease I cannot checkin my activities due to the following error :

FAILED: CHECKIN on activity act_w_ZSDevTk2_zs2_2e_com_ZSSCA2_dev_inactive_u_nwdi_cmsadm_t_2012_08_07_13_23_35_GMT_1876a6e3-e093-11e1-90d6-444553544200 failed : :Failed to execute operations. macro execution failed [cause: Communication error [cause: Read timed out]] at09:07:06.488

I have tried several times, but to no effect.

Hi All,

We are currently facing issues in one of the NWDI tracks while activating the activities. We have 2 main components on which there are like 40 activities.

It says "Unknown exception during generation Could not get ModelType com.sap.tc.webdynpro.modeltype.webservice.AdaptiveWebservice for model com.syngenta.test1.bp.mdm.web.ui.enrichbpdc.wd.models.getbusinesstypemodel.GetBusinessTypeModel(hint: check whether content archive is in classpath) " when activating the 1st(enrich) main component activities. But no problem or whatsoever in application.

On activating 2nd(Create) component, it says "The Component is broken" and "Invalid consistency with 1st(enrich) main component". FYI 2nd(Create) component uses 1st(enrich) component.

Since we have 40 activities, we do not know what/where the issue is. I tried to reimport the getbusinesstypemodel in 1st component. But nothing happened, same issue.

PFA the build log for both components. Please share your thoughts on this issue. Your help is much much appreciated

I have a portal & webdynpro application in the form of a single .sca file.

I unzipped the file using winzip and got two files - .ear and .epa.

I want to import this in NWDS to view the code and make some changes in webdynpro.

Can anybody give me the step by step procedure to do this?

In my Development, I have created 80 activities but only 50 activities are visible in NWDS.Through NWDS I am able to release 50 only.

But when i check DTR, rest activities are there. How can I releasethose activities?

We have PO 7.3 EHP1 SP04 system. (PO - Process Orchestation Single Stack Java System)

I have installed NWDS 7.3 - EHP1 - SP04 version in my system.

(File : nwds-extsoa-7.3-EHP1-SP04-PAT0005-win32.zip)

I have designed NWBPM in NWDS.

When I try to add my PO System in Window --> Preferences --> SAP As Java, after 1 minutes, it displays a message "The following SAP instance cannot be accessed at present.".

Then I tried to add through MMC. Window --> Show View --> Other --> Management Console. Here also, it displays the same message.

I tried to check Network Connections : Window --> Preferences --> General --> Network Connections. Our PO host is not added. All the Proxy Entries and Proxy By Pass Entries are unchecked.

Then I see the .log file in the .metadata folder, the log is given below.

I could not understand what is this error message.

I referred this thread. (http://scn.sap.com/thread/3243496). Do I need to install sapjvm6.msi. I don't know this installtion will help to fix this.

When I am trying to Import the track in NWDS 7.3 I am getting the following error.

"some infrastructure servers cannot be contacted"

I am trying to Import from System Landscape Directory

and in Windows --> Preferences --> Development Infrastructure --> System Landscape Directory

When I place the URL and click on Ping

The Ping is successful

When I am trying to import a New Development Configuration by doing Import from System Landscape Directory and I can see all my tracks and everything

I can see Remote Development Configuration

But when I try to logon to Development Infrastructure it gives me the following error

"some infrastructure servers cannot be contacted"

Can some one let me know what I need to do to resolve this error.

I experience a strange issue connected with DC deletion. I followed the steps provided by 864515 note, and all went fine until I tried to delete .dcref files of target DCs. Activation of this activity failed and things became so that DC were deleted from inactive workspace buut they are stil present in active.

Then I tried to delete that DC in Web DTR with the help of web activity in that way

but the process again failed with the error "Error: Precondition integrate-of-version-sets-not-allowed check failed."

To put it more clearly, the current situation is:

1. DC files/folders are successfully deleted in inactive workspace, as well as their .dcref files in TopLevelDCs folder.
2. But all these files (DCs + .dcrefs) are presented in active workspace still.

What is the proper way to fix this problem?

I am new to NWDI. I did some code modifications in my DC. When i check in my activity, it gets activated, but not getting deployed. At first i was getting authentication problem, that is resolved now. Now i get this CMS log:

I configured SLD and NWDI on Server xyz02 with wizard.

I configured MII to NWDI with wizard “Integration of MII with existing NWDI” on Server xyz04 (D-system) and xyz03 (Q-system).

That works fine!

the cbs - component build service shows the following

In CMS – change management service i see MIIDEV for server xyz04 (D-System) and MIIQS for server xyz03 (Q-System).

I configured in MIIDEV - landscape configurator – Track Data - “runtime systems” the following

• “track connections”

I configured in MIIQS - landscape configurator – Track Data - “runtime systems” the following

How I transport the transaction "1MIITest" from D to Q? its the right way with cms? whats wrong?

I found no documentation or how to guide for that issue.

I have patched our NWDI to NW 7.31 sp 17 and went to update the SCs in CM SERVICES - EDIT - SCHECK SCs. It updates but will not allow me to save. I get the following error (I x'ed out the URL contents).

Unable to save development configuration: Unexpected Exception java.lang.UnsupportedOperationException: Landscape directory change not allowed. (old landscape server:http://xxx.xxx.xxx.ca:5xx00/ new landscape server:http://http://xxx.xxx.xxx.ca:5xx00) in WebUI in case of CTS System existence. Global changes only allowed from within CTS STMS

I opened an SAP message and they came back with the note 1807994 - Changes in STMS not reflected in CM Services (NWDI).

I tried updating the CTS in our STMS per the note but the CM service in the NWDI still doesn't allow a save. No changes were made to the CTS before or after the patching.

Any ideas?

Hi Experts,

We are in process of migrating our custom developed webdynpro java components from NW 7.0 to NW 7.4.  And using NWDI for the code maintenance.

We have downloaded custom SCA files from NW 7.0 system using the CMS assembly tab (Export to SCA).

And Imported those custom SCA files to the newly created NW 7.4 NWDI track.

But we are facing code mismatch problem in one of the DC under the custom SC. One particular webdynpro DC has older version code  with missing ejb method structures and contexts at most of the places in view and component controller.

The standalone EJB DC has updated and correct code, but the corresponding webdynpro dc is not having the latest changes which are present in 7.0 version.

There is no open or pending activity in NW 7.0 which is not included in the SCA.

We want to retrieve the latest code from NW 7.0 CMS system through SCA file.

Please guide us how to proceed ahead on this as we never came across this scenario where code itself is missing during migration.

we locally created a Prototype in demo.sap.com. How can I copy the Prototype's DCs to a new SC within a NWDI-Track and its corresponding Development Configuration?

When using copy/paste the DCs are still organized in the demo.sap.com-SC which seems to be faulty.

how is the SAP JVM 6's JDK installation procedure for NWDS 7.3 und Windows 7, please?

At Installation Guide for the NWDS I found the note regarding the option SAP JVM instead of the Oracle JVM.

The installation of Oracle JVM is quite simple (setup.exe) but how ist process here for SAP JVM.

I couldn't find any documentation regarding the installation process under windows.

As well no exe file at downloaded sar file.

Only "vcredist_x86.msi"???

CBS temp folders (1 for each server node) contain nearly 4 GB each at /usr/sap/SID/JC00/j2ee/cluster /server0/temp/CBS/123456890 (server node #).

This folder contains numerous 2 digit hexadecimal folder names...a8, a9, ba, bb, bc (CBS temporary build folders ?)

Can the content under the temp folder be safely deleted or is there a way to maintain this data ?

I could not understand what is this error message.

I referred this thread. (http://scn.sap.com/thread/3243496). Do I need to install sapjvm6.msi. I don't know this installtion will help to fix this.

I have got a new project now:

I want to generate a JSP and deploy it on SAP NetWeaver Portal 7.3.

First of all, I installed NetWeaver Developer Studio 7.3 with JDK 1.6.0_21.

We are using a NWDI 7.01 SP 7.

My Problem:

On our SAP NetWeaver Portal 7.3 is a JDK 6 (1.6.0_21) running.....When I create a new Track in our NWDI, it has to be build by the Component Build Service also with JDK 6....

Can you tell me, how I set up the required JDK only for that new Track - but not as default for all Tracks in the NWDI.

P.S. It would be also very nice, if someone could confirm me, that the only required Software Component (SC) I need for deploying on NW Portal 7.3 is called: "SAP BUILD TOOL 7.3".

     I am trying to add SAP System to NWDS environment. At that time I am facing the below exception.

I think because of that exception I am unable to connect to host thereby failed to deploy the application. Could anybody provide any solution.
