Hi all,

Can someone please guide me as to what are the steps of deploying the DCs from one track to another in the same NWDI server?

I have a back-up of the source code of all DCs that need to be moved to another track.

Thanks,

When I place the URL and click on Ping

The Ping is successful

When I am trying to import a New Development Configuration by doing Import from System Landscape Directory and I can see all my tracks and everything

But when I try to logon to Development Infrastructure it gives me the following error

Dear Reader(s),

Below is the ERROR MESSAGE I get when I deploy from my local NetWeaver Developer Studio to the (remote) J2EE application server.

In NWDS I made the following settings:

I assume the J2EE_ADMIN user is used when establishing a connection between NWDS and the application server?

When I use the remote GUI from SDM on the server I can see the http server configuration on port 50019 is not running. Can this be the reason?

NWDI 7.2 merge with NWDI 7.31

Hi,

Currently, we have 7.2 development landscape that includes CE 7.2

connected to NWDI 7.2.

At the same time we have another system with new NWDI 7.31 configured and

we would like to understand how can we "merge" the current 7.2 system into 7.31 system

so we will have one NWDI in the organization.

Is it possible ? how exactly ? can we "Upgrade" 7.2 SCs to 7.31 during the merge ?

Kind regards,

Dimitry

SAP JVM 6's JDK installation procedure for NWDS 7.3

Hello Colleagues,

how is the SAP JVM 6's JDK installation procedure for NWDS 7.3 und Windows 7, please?

At Installation Guide for the NWDS I found the note regarding the option SAP JVM instead of the Oracle JVM.

The installation of Oracle JVM is quite simple (setup.exe) but how ist process here for SAP JVM.

I couldn't find any documentation regarding the installation process under windows.

As well no exe file at downloaded sar file.

Only "vcredist_x86.msi"???

Download SAP JVM6 vom Service Market Place

Support Packages and Patches --> A-Z Index -->N > SAP NETWEAVER> SAP EHP1 FOR SAP NETWEAVER 7.3--> Entry by Component --> Application Server Java --> SAP JVM 6.1--> Windows Server on IA32 32bit--> SAPJVM6_42-10006998.SAR

Please, could anyone help me here?

Many thanks in advance!

SUM giving an error : Canot detect NWDI system role

$

Hi Guys,

I am trying to patch a SAP NW CE 7.2 system from SP1 to SP8.I had issues for 2 software components while trying to patch using the standard patching tool JSPM.

So I thought of patching just those 2 components using another tool - SUM- Software Update Manager.

In this tool it gives me an error - Cannot detect NWDI system role. Could not get NWDI system role from CVERS. com.sap.sl.util.cvers.api.CVersAccessException: CMSRTS, getModifiedComponents: unknown DB schema, can not write data com.sap.sl.util.cvers.api.CVersAccessException: CMSRTS, getModifiedComponents: unknown DB schema, can not write data

On the JSPM screen it says "System is not under NWDI control" which is correct. The guy who had installed this system has also included the usage type DI which was not needed in the first place. No initial configuration  NWDI  have been ever performed on this system and still while JSPM is not complaining on the NWDI role,SUM is complaining. Do I have to do some initial setup wrt NWDI component so that SUM will pick the right NWDI role.

Installing JDK 6 (1.6.0_21) on SAP NWDI - CBS

$

Hello Experts.

I have got a new project now:

I want to generate a JSP and deploy it on SAP NetWeaver Portal 7.3.

First of all, I installed NetWeaver Developer Studio 7.3 with JDK 1.6.0_21.

We are using a NWDI 7.01 SP 7.

My Problem:

On our SAP NetWeaver Portal 7.3 is a JDK 6 (1.6.0_21) running.....When I create a new Track in our NWDI, it has to be build by the Component Build Service also with JDK 6....

Can you tell me, how I set up the required JDK only for that new Track - but not as default for all Tracks in the NWDI.

P.S. It would be also very nice, if someone could confirm me, that the only required Software Component (SC) I need for deploying on NW Portal 7.3 is called: "SAP BUILD TOOL 7.3".

Replication of tracks from one NWDI to another

$

Hi All,

I am new to NWDI. Currently we have to move some tracks from old NWDI [for 7.0 portal] to a new one [for 7.3]. It was agreed upon to follow the procedure as per the link "http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw73/helpdata/en/49/101b273d9d132ee10000000a421937/frameset.htm" as all data and history has to be maintained. As per method desribed here ".. >> Choose the Change Management Service link. >> Choose the Landscape Configurator link and change the DTR URL in the track configuration of TRACK1 from SRCDTR to TGTDTR. >>To create a copy of TRACK1, choose Save As. Name the track TRK1CPY .." This "Save As" operation is throwing error as it cannot access the target DTR. Since we are performing the steps in old NWDI CMS, it should be able to access the new NWDI DTR [with separate CMS, SLD, CBS, DTR]. But cannot figure how to do it. Do we have to maintain same CMS Admin user id and paasowrd in the new NWDI as the old one??

Please help.

Can't add SAP Java AS on NWDS 7.3

Hi,

I've downloaded NWDS 7.3 (SAP NetWeaver 7.3 SP07 PAT0005) and I'm trying to connect it with my EP (Kernel Version: 7.30.3710.159124.20110824120645). I'm going to Windows -> Preferences -> SAP AS Java and click on Add button.

I'm entering the host instance name and instance number (Instance Number: 56) and, when I click on OK button nothing happens... If I enter a wrong host instance name or a wrong instance number the NWDS shows me an error message. Otherwise, if everything is correct, it just closes the popup window and returns to the SAP AS Java initial screen with no system on it.

I really appreciate any help.

Thanks,

Nelson Bertolino

java.net.SocketTimeoutException: Read timed out while doing check out of DC

Hi,

I have an unique error.

In our project, we have installed NetWeaver 7.0 EHP1 SP4 as the Portal Devlopment Server.

I have done all the steps for Post Installation Steps of NWDI.

Now, there is an SAP SRS Compnent being deployed in Portal and functional consultant are

also using it.

Component Name : ISRSRS05_0-20002510.SCA

Version: SP05 for IS-R-SRS 602.

Now, this component is already being deployed in our Portal Server SAP NetWeaver 7.0 EHP1 SP4.

I was able to import this component in our NWDI track.

The dependent components of this .SCA are EP-BUILDT 7.0, SAP-JEE 7.0, SAP-BUILDT 7.0 and SAP_JTECHS 7.0

All the mandatory steps in Landscape Configurator and Transport Studio in CMS were done without error.

Then, I imported the NWDI track Configuration in NWDS 7.01 SP4.

I am able to import the inactive dcs of IS-R-SRS but when checking out, I am getting

Checkout failed: Checkout file failed (server response: Communication error [cause: Read timed out]):/TST/sap.com_IS-R-SRS/dev/inactive/DCs/sap.com/is/isr/srs/men/app/_comp/src/packages/com/sap/is/isr/srs/men/app/MainAppComp.wdcomponent /DJ1_TST_D~is~isr~srs~men~app~sap.com/src/packages/com/sap/is/isr/srs/men/app/MainAppComp.wdcomponent

The error in NWDS .metadata log is

!MESSAGE Feb 2, 2010 5:48:46 PM       com.sap.dtr.client.lib.protocol.requests.RequestBase     [Thread[main,5,main]] Error:
java.net.SocketTimeoutException: Read timed out     at java.net.SocketInputStream.socketRead0(Native Method)     at java.net.SocketInputStream.read(SocketInputStream.java:129)     at java.net.SocketInputStream.read(SocketInputStream.java:182)     at com.sap.dtr.client.lib.protocol.streams.ChunkedInputStream.readLine(ChunkedInputStream.java:327)

But I can create activities successfully in NWDS (DTR).

I am able to write code in Compnent Controller of my custom SC VIN_PRD.

Now, my question is whether this is java.net.SocketException or incompatibility of software.

My delivery manager told me to get the older version of NWDS ie., NWDS 6.40 but I am sure

that will not work with SAP NetWeaver 7.0 EHP1 SP4.

There is an error in DTR log  server but on earlier date:

com.tssap.dtr.pvc.basics.transaction.AbstractSessionBoundTask#Java#background.outOfDBConnections#com.tssap.dtr.server.deltav.resources.log_messages#Service unavailable, running background task {0} failed. Database connection pool is out of connections. Check connection pool and database settings.#1#com.tssap.dtr.server.deltav.runtimeconfig.impl.ConfigParamsCheckerTas

Need to Download NWDS 7.01.06 (SAP Netweaver 7.0 EHP 1 SP6)

Where to Download NetWeaver Developer Studio

$

I am looking for the best/quickest way to get a bunch of Java WARs deployed to NetWeaver. From what I am gathering, it appears that they may need to first be packaged as EARs? Then, I have read that NetWeaver Developer Studio can be used to deploy applications. Is this the preferred/quickest option? Are there alternative ways, such as through NetWeaver's administration console or via a Maven plugin?

I am trying to download NetWeaver Developer Studio, but it is proving difficult to find where to download it from on sap.com. If I go to http://www.sap.com/platform/netweaver/components/index.epx --> SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio this will take me to SAP NetWeaver Visual Composer, which doesn't seem to be right? Or is it? Can you please provide me with the correct location for a SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio (preferably for Linux).

Also, as a follow on question, how or where can I configure NetWeaver to have a JNDI data source?

Warnings on build in NWDS.

Getting such warnings on build via Sync Sources:

Warning: Deploy-time dependency to crm/tc/core (sap.com) is not allowed and will be ignored (development component type Java (sap.com) has incompatible runtime type).

Should these warnings be taken care of or ignored? Will it cause issues at a later stage?

Any info on this appreciated. Thanks.

NWDI issue!!!

I am in need of desepearte help to try and resolve this issue.  I have an SCA in NWDI that I was able to import without a problem into Development.  Now the problem is when I move onto consolidation, it is throwing an error with the following:

Import canceled

Reason: The version(s) you want to import are lower than the system state version(s)

It is not possible to import a lower version again

This is not the case because I am trying to import the newest version but for some reason, it does not see it that way.  I found a note that says how to force this, but I couldn't seem to follow the exact steps they were taking to force it through. The following is a link to the note: https://websmp230.sap-ag.de/sap%28bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==%29/bc/bsp/spn/sapnotes/index2.htm?numm=973346  (Point 4)

Are there any ideas that anyone has to help me resolve this.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

I have been trying to delete a workspace from DTR but have had no luck yet. I have followed what was mentioned in the note 855537 and also checked sap help. When i try to open it as a webfolder, i cannot open it and it says cannot open the link as a webfolder. I also tried using dtr.bat and dtrshell.bat from the tools folder for NWDS, but when i double click on them it says "specified path does not exist". I checked the paths and everything looks fine. Here is the path that has been maintained on my system:

NWDI Migration from 7.0 to 7.31

$

Hello All,

We are in the process of upgrading our NWDI servers from 7.0 to 7.31 SP06. We have more than 20 tracks in the 7.0 version which are used for development. We have different types of developments going on in different tracks like Portal developments in a track, Webdynpro developments, ESS and MSS developments, Biller Direct etc. Our landscape is big where we support parallel project and production support activities in different tracks.

We would like to know what will happen to the old developments when we upgrade our NWDI server from 7.0 to 7.31. The dependent components in the latest 7.31 version is different from the 7.0 version.

1) Should we need to create new tracks and import the old developed SC into the new track?

2) We cannot change the production support track components as we need to support the ongoing production needs. What will happen to these tracks after migration to 7.31? Will it still be usable with older version of sca files? This question is specific to ESS, MSS and Biller Direct. We have made huge development changes to these tracks and need to support them until the newer migration goes live.

Thanks,

Nagarajan.

Hi NWDI Expers

need help to fix my transport issues.

I am about to activate all the developed activities and found that the Used DCs are broken in CBS and our activites are not getting activated.

I am able to build and deploy manually from NWDS and check in the code no issues, activation is not happening.

How can I fix the used DCs? the SCs are giving this issue they are given by SAP, standard Software Components.

Which are already in our track, imported to Development, Consolidation already.
