Dev. configuration not syncing with SLD
Hello,
we are using NWDI 7.3 and have defined development configurations in CM Services. Currently we are going to upgrade our systems from NW 7.3 to NW 7.3 Ehp1, so we created new versions of our Software Components in SLD and defined 7.31 dependencies for them. Then we created a new development configuration with these new versions of Software Components. Since then we have a problem - when we update the dependencies of these new SCs in SLD and use "Check SCs" and "Update development configuration" functionality from the CM Services on our new track, it discovers the inconsistency between SLD and the development track and it looks like the development configuration is updated, but it is not - repeated check discovers the same inconsistencies. We have found a workaround - removing all SCs from our new development configuration and adding them back resolves the changed dependencies. But still, the development configuration can't be updated in the normal way.
Strange thing is that the old development configuration we used for 7.3 development doesn't suffer from this error - it is possible to update it through "Check SCs" and "Update development configuration" functionality.
Can you please advise on this problem?

Installing JDK 6 (1.6.0_21) on SAP NWDI - CBS
Hello Experts.
I have got a new project now:
I want to generate a JSP and deploy it on SAP NetWeaver Portal 7.3.
First of all, I installed NetWeaver Developer Studio 7.3 with JDK 1.6.0_21.
We are using a NWDI 7.01 SP 7.
My Problem:
On our SAP NetWeaver Portal 7.3 is a JDK 6 (1.6.0_21) running.....When I create a new Track in our NWDI, it has to be build by the Component Build Service also with JDK 6....
Can you tell me, how I set up the required JDK only for that new Track - but not as default for all Tracks in the NWDI.
P.S. It would be also very nice, if someone could confirm me, that the only required Software Component (SC) I need for deploying on NW Portal 7.3 is called: "SAP BUILD TOOL 7.3".

Migrating the webdynpro applications from 7.0 to 7.3 EHP1
Hi,
Do we need to upgrade the current NWDI server from 7.0 to 7.3 EHP1 and then after upgrade we need to create new track with 7.3 dependent components and upload the code .SCA files in the new track. Please clarify the steps clearly.
I saw in lot of places in NWDI TRACK migration need to be done by creating the new track and uploading the new version related dependent files in the new track.
1)
is this new track need to be created on the same NWDI server after upgraded the system from 7.0 to 7.3 EHP1 ?
If we need to setup the new track in the same server, i guess we need to setup new track after upgrading NWDI server version from 7.0 to 7.3 EHP1.
what is the process or steps for upgrading the NWDI server from 7.0 to 7.3 EHP1
or
2) We need to install the new NWDI server with fresh installation of 7.3 EHP1 and create the new track by uploading the new dependent files and we need to migrate the old server code to new server.

Where to Download NetWeaver Developer Studio
I am looking for the best/quickest way to get a bunch of Java WARs deployed to NetWeaver. From what I am gathering, it appears that they may need to first be packaged as EARs? Then, I have read that NetWeaver Developer Studio can be used to deploy applications. Is this the preferred/quickest option? Are there alternative ways, such as through NetWeaver's administration console or via a Maven plugin?
I am trying to download NetWeaver Developer Studio, but it is proving difficult to find where to download it from on sap.com. If I go to http://www.sap.com/platform/netweaver/components/index.epx --> SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio this will take me to SAP NetWeaver Visual Composer, which doesn't seem to be right? Or is it? Can you please provide me with the correct location for a SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio (preferably for Linux).
Also, as a follow on question, how or where can I configure NetWeaver to have a JNDI data source?

Issue with checked out files
Hi Guys,
We have a very strange issue in our environment, CE 7.2.
Person A checked out some files and created an activity. However some other problems led him to revert and delete that activity. The files however are still checked out. Myself and Person A have tried to checkout those files again but we both get the same error - that it is already checked out.
We have tried to find the activity relating to the checkout but it no longer exists anywhere, DTR nor the CBS.
Now, Person A is no longer here, and I need to checkout and edit these files, but everytime i do it gives me an error that they are already checked out. I tried with a new workspace but still no luck.
Any ideas?

Hi All,
I have a portal & webdynpro application in the form of a single .sca file.
I unzipped the file using winzip and got two files - .ear and .epa.
I want to import this in NWDS to view the code and make some changes in webdynpro.
Can anybody give me the step by step procedure to do this?

NWDI with CM Services and CTS+: Correct setup for Process Orchestration
Hi experts,
I have a basic question to understand the concept of CM Services of NWDI exactly.
We have a Process Orchestration landscape in which we are doing both PI and BPM developments. We plan to set up NWDI together with CTS+. We have 3 systems: Dev, QA and Prod.
I was able to configure everything so far on the development system to ensure that development works (both PI and BPM). However there are still some open questions to understand the concept completely:
1. How do we need to set up the TMS settings correctly? We have done it as follows so far. Do we also need "DC" method? And if yes, why? If I save this configuration, the development configuration in NWDI is created without a runtime system.
2. Do we need a runtime system or can we configure everything without a runtime system? What is the purpose of it? Do we have 1 runtime system for all 3 stages DEV, QA and PROD or is the runtime system only PROD system?

NWDI Migration from 7.0 to 7.31
Hello All,
We are in the process of upgrading our NWDI servers from 7.0 to 7.31 SP06. We have more than 20 tracks in the 7.0 version which are used for development. We have different types of developments going on in different tracks like Portal developments in a track, Webdynpro developments, ESS and MSS developments, Biller Direct etc. Our landscape is big where we support parallel project and production support activities in different tracks.
We would like to know what will happen to the old developments when we upgrade our NWDI server from 7.0 to 7.31. The dependent components in the latest 7.31 version is different from the 7.0 version.
1) Should we need to create new tracks and import the old developed SC into the new track?
2) We cannot change the production support track components as we need to support the ongoing production needs. What will happen to these tracks after migration to 7.31? Will it still be usable with older version of sca files? This question is specific to ESS, MSS and Biller Direct. We have made huge development changes to these tracks and need to support them until the newer migration goes live.

both my service file and host file .
To be more elobarated,
we have natted IP's (10.83 series ) that hits 172 series and its 172 series where the server lies.
so we access this 10.83 series in our host file.
but we have no problem with one of our servers, problem is with ODB which is the second server.
the same rules is applied for this too.

Too many open files error in NWDI
HI ,
i am trying to transport local webdynro component to NWDI . As per the standard procedures i have copied the src folder and pasted in the NWDI development component. When i navigate to DTR perspective and try adding the src folder( by right clicking and select add->subtree) to dtr we are gettting error message "TOO MANY OPEN FILES".
we have followed the thread Too many open files error in NWDI and tried to checkin in the files one by one . By doing so we are able to add the files to an activity but when we checkin the activity we still get the same error. please give your inputs..

Unable to checkout NWDI code with NWDS
Hi,
I have a problem with checking out NWDI DC component and java file. When I tried to edit the java file, the above pop shows. However, no activity is created when I edit the java file and the code changes are not reflected at deployment. I have tried to create different workspaces but that do not help. I am able to connect to the DTR and CBS. Am I missing some configuration on NWDS? Thank you very much.

How to check-in a local folder in NWDI to a specific DC using shell?

We are developing a project using a framework that is available by the portal out of the box.
The developers are using SVN for version control and every time they need to deploy to the portal they send changes and we manually uploading their resources under the dist folder of a portal DC in NWDI so that we could deploy this to the portal and transport it using NWDI.
This is obviously time consuming process and I'm looking of ways to simplify / automate this and I was thinking about using the DTR shell tool.
I have already setup the shell to run from NWDS and I'm now thinking of the quickest way to achieve this, so suppose I have a local folder full of resources that I want to upload and check-in to NWDI to a specific location of a certain DC, what would be the best way to achieve this?

SAP JVM 6's JDK installation procedure for NWDS 7.3
Hello Colleagues,
how is the SAP JVM 6's JDK installation procedure for NWDS 7.3 und Windows 7, please?
At Installation Guide for the NWDS I found the note regarding the option SAP JVM instead of the Oracle JVM.
The installation of Oracle JVM is quite simple (setup.exe) but how ist process here for SAP JVM.
I couldn't find any documentation regarding the installation process under windows.
As well no exe file at downloaded sar file.
Only "vcredist_x86.msi"???

Software component deployment in CM Services for CTS System
Hi All,
We have set up NWDI with CM Services. Currently there is an existing CTS System (track) where I have defined the required software components and deployed them with "Synchronize service" functioonality. However as per the project requirement, I have configured a second CTS System and added some software components to it.
Now when I use synchronize service for the software components in the second CTS system, it throws me an error saying:
"deploy archive tmp/extract_201312061455110674_sap.com_EP-BASIS.SAP AG.20130227234100/DEPLOYARCHIVES/com.sap.netweaver.rtmf.server.sda is not added to build request, because it should be already deployed on runtime system during its set-up, upgrade or update."
This must be because the underlying system for both the CTS systems are same and the software component is already deployed in the earlier CTS system.
Could you please help me on how to proceed in this case if I need to deploy them so that they show up in the CBS Buildspace of the second CTS system?

New NWDI and SAP Portal System 7.0, version conflict?

I have SAP Portal system 7.0 SP23 (AIX-Oracle). Our NWDI is installed in Portal development system, it has some problems with dtr
We decide to install new NWDI.
I have the following doubts
Our new nwdi will be installed in windows/oracle.does it matter if nwdi is on different plataform than portal system?
do new nwdi must be on the same release of Portal System 7.0 SP23 or can be higher?? are there conflicts when nwdi is higher version than Portal 7.0?? which release can I use?
NWDi will be installed in one server where Solution Mananger 7.1 is installed, will be problems?

NWDS - 7.3 - Unable to add SAP Instance

We have PO 7.3 EHP1 SP04 system. (PO - Process Orchestation Single Stack Java System)
I have installed NWDS 7.3 - EHP1 - SP04 version in my system.
(File : nwds-extsoa-7.3-EHP1-SP04-PAT0005-win32.zip)
I have designed NWBPM in NWDS.
When I try to add my PO System in Window --> Preferences --> SAP As Java, after 1 minutes, it displays a message "The following SAP instance cannot be accessed at present.".
Then I tried to add through MMC. Window --> Show View --> Other --> Management Console. Here also, it displays the same message.
I tried to check Network Connections : Window --> Preferences --> General --> Network Connections. Our PO host is not added. All the Proxy Entries and Proxy By Pass Entries are unchecked.
Then I see the .log file in the .metadata folder, the log is given below.

I could not understand what is this error message.
I referred this thread. (http://scn.sap.com/thread/3243496). Do I need to install sapjvm6.msi. I don't know this installtion will help to fix this.
